During this Lenten series, we’ll also be watch and discuss a short video on a different by C.S. Lewis each week. No preparation is required: all we ask is that you bring yourself and a readiness to talk. This series is open to everyone, so please feel encouraged to bring your friends!
C.S. Lewis is perhaps the most widely-read Christian author of the 20th century, and his books have inspired generations of Christian leaders. Though best known for his classic Chronicles of Narnia fantasy series, Lewis also wrote a substantial amount of books for adult Christian readers on a wide range of topics, from spiritual warfare to heaven & hell to Lewis’ own reasons for converting to Christianity to making sense of suffering and evil as a Christian. In this series, we’ll be exploring five of his writings in particular: Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Four Loves, Lewis’ short essays, and The Great Divorce. While we’ll only be able to cover a chapter or two of each book and won’t be able to explore everything he wrote during this Lenten study, if you want to dig deeper into Lewis’ life or writings, please contact Pastor Alex (pastor@fpclapeer.org) for more information.
